Ammonium Chloride is manufactured by the reaction of Ammonia with Hydrochloric Acid. The reaction is highly exothermic and it is prone to explosion. To control heat the reaction is done in a very large volume of liquor.
NH3 + HCl → NH4Cl
The material so produced is very high quality and the first crop is surpassing all the standards, that are actually based on making Ammonium Chloride from the bye-product solution of Soda Ash plant.
Apart from the high grade Ammonium Chloride that we make by the reaction of Ammonia with Hydrochloric Acid, we also make Ammonium Chloride purified by sublimation. We also make ammonium chloride Bars, Bricks, Granules and Tablets.

IDENTIFICATION
A.
It gives the reactions of chlorides.
B.
10 ml of solution gives the reaction of ammonium salts.
TESTS
Solution S
A 10% solution
Appearance of solution: Solution is
clear and colourless.
Acidity or Alkalinity: To 10 ml of solution S add 0.05 ml of
methyl red solution. Not more than 0.5 ml of 0.01 M hydrochloric acid
or 0.01 M sodium hydroxide is required to change the colour of
the indicator.
Bromides and Iodides: To 10
ml of solution S add 0.1 ml of dilute hydrochloric acid R and 0.05 ml
of chloramine solution. After 1 min, add 2
ml of chloroform R and shake vigorously. The chloroform layer remains
colourless
Sulphates: Maximum 150 ppm.
Calcium: Maximum 200 ppm.
Iron: Maximum 20 ppm.
Heavy metals: Maximum 10
ppm.
Loss on drying: Maximum 1.0
per cent, determined on 1.00 g by drying in an oven at 105 °C for 2 h.
Sulphated ash: Maximum 0.1
per cent, determined on 2.0 g.
